Jokowi Appreciation Guarantees Investment Certainty, Puan Ensures DPR And Government Follow Up The Court's Decision On The Copyright Law

JAKARTA - The chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Maharani, emphasized that her party respects the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the revision of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. Puan said the DPR is ready to follow up on the Constitutional Court's decision.

"DPR is committed to immediately following up on the decision of the Constitutional Court together with the government by the constitutional authority of the DPR", said Puan in a written statement, Tuesday, November 30.

Regarding the order of the Constitutional Court's decision which gave the government and the DPR a two-year deadline to revise the Job Creation Law, Puan said that her party would seek to include it in the 2022 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

"Improvements to the Job Creation Law need to be carried out quickly and must not exceed the time limit so that the Job Creation Act does not become permanently unconstitutional", she continued.

Puan appreciated President Jokowi's steps to provide security and investment certainty for business actors and investors from within and outside the country.

This guarantee is important because all the substances in the Job Creation Law remain in full force and effect without any articles being annulled by the Constitutional Court until the Law is revised.

"We hope that this guarantee will maintain the conduciveness of the domestic investment climate, which has begun to gradually recover after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic", she said.
