20 Members Of Pemuda Pancasila Arrested, Police Regret Disorderly Demonstration

JAKARTA - After the demonstration of the Pemuda Pancasila (PP) community organization (Ormas) in front of the Indonesian House of Representatives/People's Consultative Assembly (DPR/MPR RI) Building, Jakarta, joint officers were still seen carrying out tight security. Several banners of demands that had been installed on the fence of the Indonesian Parliament Building began to be removed by officers.

Meanwhile, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police carried out a sweep of the Pemuda Pancasila members who were still scattered around the DPR RI Building.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police Kombes Pol E. Zulfan confirmed the arrests of dozens of the Pemuda Pancasila Organizations that were secured.

"Twenty people have been detained by the Jakarta Metro Police. The results of the preliminary examination, we will arrest 9 people and set them as suspects for carrying sharp weapons", he told VOI, Thursday, November 25.

Furthermore, the Head of Public Relations of the Regional Police said, demonstrations carrying sharp weapons were certainly not justified.

"We will process this, the perpetrators are also subject to the emergency law", he said.

"We from the Jakarta Metro Police regret that the demonstration activities are not orderly", he added.
