After A Long Debate, The DPRD Decides That Anies Baswedan's TGUPP Salary Budget Will Be Reduced To Rp12.5 Billion

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD Budget Agency (Banggar) has decided that the budget for the Team of Governors for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) of DKI has been reduced from the proposed Rp19.8 billion to Rp12.5 billion in the 2022 APBD Draft.

This nominal was decided after a long debate at the Banggar meeting which was held at the DKI DPRD Building yesterday.

The discussion on the TGUPP salary budget began in the afternoon. The majority of DPRD members view that the role of TGUPP is too central and hampers the performance of DKI regional work units (SKPD).

Member of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, Gembong Warsono, had asked the DPRD leadership to remove the TGUPP budget of Rp19.8 billion in next year's APBD," said Gembong, Wednesday, November 24.

Instead, Gembong suggested that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan pay the TGUPP salary from the side of the DKI Governor's operational allowance fund. Gembong assessed that the APBD is better used for programs that are beneficial to the interests of the community.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission A of the DKI DPRD Inggad Joshua admitted that it would be okay to grant the TGUPP budget as long as the Anies team improved its performance, which had been a complaint by the DPRD.

"As long as the TGUPP can help the interests of the people of Jakarta behind the scenes, without being rude to the SKPD, then we are willing. But if it happens again that affects the performance of the SKPD, then we frankly don't accept it," said Inggad.

The heated debate continued into the night. Considering the statements of the council members, the Chairman of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, Mujiyono, proposed that the TGUPP budget be reduced to Rp15.2 billion.

"From me, the TGUPP budget is calculated from 10 months of salary during 2022, reduced by Rp4.5 billion to Rp15.2 billion," said Mujiyono.

This budget is calculated from the results of adjustments to Anies' term of office, who only worked 10 months before stepping down in 2022 and counting the number of 68 TGUPP people.

The amount proposed by Mujiyono was again debated. Meanwhile, the time has shown at 20.30 WIB and there are still other budgets that need to be discussed. Until finally, the Chairman of the DPRD as well as the Head of Banggar decided to take the middle figure to Rp12.5 billion.

"That's enough. So I took the middle way of Rp15.2 billion, I decided to Rp12.5 billion," closed the Chairman of the DKI DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi.
