Debt Collector Pinjol Threatens Again, Customers Have Paid Off Debt Still Get Bills And Terror

JAKARTA - Morin, a 30-year-old woman came to the West Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters to report the terror of online loans (Pinjol) that befell her. This woman received physical threats and the spread of personal data by online lenders.

Morin admitted that she had paid off the online loan she had done. Even though her debt has been paid off, Morin has become the victim of a misappropriation of the bill by the loan shark.

"Because I felt that I did not borrow and received physical threats or data dissemination, I finally made a report to the West Jakarta Metro Police", said the woman in front of the West Jakarta Metro Police Integrated Service Center (SPKT), Thursday, November 11.

However, Morin did not mention the loan application which had irritated him and led to a police report.

To the police, Morin explained the sequence of what happened. At first, he borrowed money through a loan application in October 2021 for IDR 3 million. But the money that Morin received at that time was only IDR 2 million and she felt the cut made by the loan was too big.

"I also don't know how much interest must be paid within one week, because I have already borrowed it", she said.

After only five days of borrowing, Morin has been billed with a payment of approximately IDR 3 million. Because she felt that it was not yet due, Morin ignored the bill made by the loan.

Apparently, the bill came every day making the victim confused because there was a threat of spreading personal data to all of Morin's phone contacts.

Morin then settles the bill in order to be free from the threat of being borrowed.

"There was also a threat, 'You be careful, I know where your house is', they do it like that", she said.

However, when the bill was paid off, Morin got another bill with a nominal value of IDR 3 million. Because she didn't feel like she was borrowing and had already paid the initial loan bill, she ignored it. However, the perpetrators terrorized the victim again by telephone. Morin has also explained to the loan operator that she has never borrowed.

"I never borrowed, suddenly there was a bill", she regretted.

Morin hopes that the West Jakarta Metro Police officers will immediately arrest online loans who have been troubling her and other people.

"Because this is like a fraud mode that never takes a loan but has to pay it", she said.

Until now, the case is still being handled by the West Jakarta Metro Police.
