Chairman Of DKI DPRD: I Ask For The Rp2.2 Trillion BTT Budget To Be Returned To Rp200 Billion

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has proposed an unexpected cost budget (BTT) of Rp2.2 trillion in the General Policy on Budget and Temporary Budget Priority Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) for the 2022 budget year.

Since 2020, the BTT budget has been used for the prevention of COVID-19, such as incentives for health workers, vaccination workers, the purchase of coffins, and social assistance for residents affected by the pandemic.

However, the Chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, asked the Regional Government Budget Team (TPAD) to review the BTT allocation. He asked for the BTT budget to be reduced to Rp200 billion by 2022.

"I ask for the 2022 BTT budget of Rp2.2 trillion to be returned to the value of the 2019 BTT budget of only Rp200 billion," Prasetyo said in his statement, Wednesday, November 10.

According to Prasetyo, currently, DKI does not need to allocate a significant BTT budget. Because the pandemic is relatively under control.

In fact, he continued, the allocation of BTT next year is better for efforts to recover the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The rest can be shifted to post-COVID-19 economic growth programs such as developing MSMEs, providing funds, and building MSME facilities and infrastructure under the agency," said Prasetyo.

For information, in 2020, the DKI Provincial Government uses the BTT budget post of Rp5.5 trillion to handle and overcome the spread of COVID-19.

Then, in 2021, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also continue to allocate the 2021 BTT budget, which is Rp2.133 trillion.

This is intended to provide cash assistance, financing for guesthouses, hotels, guesthouses, sports buildings (GOR), and schools to accommodate COVID-19 patients, incentives for health workers or health workers, and the implementation of vaccinations.
