JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Education Office has proposed a 10 percent increase in grant funds in the General Policy on Budget and Temporary Budget Priority Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) for the 2022 budget year.

The proposal to increase the nominal value of the honorary teacher grant amounting to Rp48.9 billion was approved by Commission E of the DKI DPRD.

The Coordinator of Commission E of the DKI DPRD, Zita Anjani, said that this addition was made to improve the welfare of honorary workers in private schools and early childhood education (PAUD).

"We are increasing 10 percent, this is a form of our love and concern for teachers, especially early childhood and honorary teachers in private schools," Zita said in her statement, Monday, November 8.

With the increase in grant funds, the budget becomes Rp538.9 billion for 81,658 honorary teachers. Thus, honorary teachers will get an increase of Rp50 thousand or to Rp550 thousand each month.

In addition, the DPRD also approved the provision of operational funds of Rp77 million so that teaching staff can enjoy grant funds without any further deductions.

"They have a membership system, they are required to pay dues, that is our role so that in the future grantees can get 100 percent without any deductions, so that educators who receive grants can fully enjoy them," said Zita.

Continuing, Member of Commission E of the DKI DPRD, Oman Rohman Rakinda, hopes that the increase in grant funds and the provision of operational funds can eliminate the burden of teaching staff on another financing in their organization.

"We at Commission E propose that our private teachers in PGRI, Paud, and Madrasah have their grants increased by 10 percent and receive operational costs. That way, we hope that there will be no more fees for teachers," said Oman.
