Taylor Swift's New Album Breaks New Record And History On Spotify

JAKARTA - Taylor Swift has again proven her dominance in the global music industry. Her latest album, The Life Of A Showgirl', managed to break the pre-save record on Spotify even before it was officially released.

According to a Rolling Stone report, Swift's 12th album, scheduled for release on Friday, October 3, has crossed 5 million pre-saves on the streaming platform.

This fantastic figure shifts the record previously held by Swift herself through the album "The Torturing Poets Department" (2024).

This achievement also makes The Life Of A Showgirl the first album in Spotify's history to reach 5 million for pre-savements.

Spotify has also just introduced a new feature featuring pre-saved amounts for the top 10 Countdown Pages. Every Wednesday, Spotify will release Countdown charts rankings for fans.

Madeleine Bennett, an executive on Spotify, explained that this feature aims to provide more visibility for fans' most anticipated releases.

"By sequencing the top pre-saves release globally, we provide a powerful new way for musicians to build anticipation and connect with their biggest fans ahead of the release day," Bennett said, quoted by Rolling Stone, Tuesday, September 30.

Meanwhile, 'The Life Of A Showgirl' was co-produced by Max Martin and Shellback, as well as Swift herself. The 35-year-old singer has also revealed a complete list of songs for her new album, including a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the song of the same name.

Swift says, The Life Of A Showgirl' is a recording I've been wanting to make for a long time. This album focuses on what happened behind the scenes in my inner life during the Eras Tour.

In addition, Swift insists that no other songs will come outside the standard edition of the song list. He also talked about the luxurious album cover and said fans would see more pictures than ever planned.

"We chose a very glossy end touch that I've never done before, and I think it looks really cool," Swift said.

"We want this album to feel very luxurious and a kind of nod for the luxury worn by a show girl while she is on stage," he concluded.
