Armand Maulana, Ariel And Others Raise Donations To Help Communities Affected By Demonstrations

JAKARTA - Vibrasi Suara Indonesia (VISI), a singers' association led by Armand Maulana and Ariel NOAH, is raising funds to help those affected by the demonstrations.

As is known, demonstrations took place in Jakarta to express dissatisfaction with the House of Representatives (DPR). The demonstrations escalated and spread to many areas after an online motorcycle taxi (ojek) driver was killed after being hit by a Brimob (Mobile Brigade) vehicle.

VISI stated via its official Instagram account that the donations were opened as a form of concern for mutual care among citizens.

"Amidst the current situation, we, on behalf of VISI, along with our friends at #wargabantuwarga, want to lend a hand. We are opening this donation as a form of humanitarian concern, so that we can look after one another," read the official statement on Sunday, August 31.

The collected donations will be used for medical and logistical needs for those affected by the demonstrations.

"All support will be used to help with the medical and logistical needs of those injured or affected during and after the demonstrations," it said.

"As a bridge for humanity, we believe: This donation drive is our way of joining hands to ensure aid truly reaches those in need," he added.
