JAKARTA - In order to strengthen the national music ecosystem, the Ministry of Creative Economy encourages cross-sectoral collaboration. It also aims to increase economic turnover in the art industry itself.

"The Ministry of Creative Economy continues to be committed to strengthening the chain of creative values, especially the music sub-sector," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy (Wameekraf) Irene Umar, in a press statement published by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 19.

In supporting this, one of them is through the collaboration of the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Federation of Indonesian Musician Unions (FESMI), which is a musician professional union organization as a combination and coordinator of 8 musician unions in Indonesian territory that have been legally official since 2020.

The collaboration supports creative talents that strengthen the national music ecosystem, one of which is manifested in ASIK activities, Independence!.

"We hope that the collaboration between the government and FESMI can be an inspiration for fellow creative fighters from the music industry," said Irene.

"The Ministry of Creative Economy is not only fighting for royalties, there are values or values that must be maintained so that all elements of music have the power to fulfill economic results. We will also continue to collaborate across sectors and across ministries so that synchronization is needed to find the right solution or policy," said Irene.

Presidential Special Staff Yovie Widianto believes FESMI is a talented and productive musician representative. He also felt that their mission in advancing the national music ecosystem needed to synergize.

"I know very well that musicians, singers, and composers are part of the symbiosis of mutualism that is important for the Indonesian music industry. Moreover, friends from FESMI are very productive in their work so they understand how to get the rights of proportion in accordance with the rights they strive for and fight for together," said Yovie.

FESMI which also focuses on the function of empowering and protecting musicians' professions by carrying out research functions and policy recommendations which are expected to be able to contribute to the increasingly conducive music industry ecosystem.

"FESMI is still focused on providing an understanding of how important it is for us to organize or associate to prioritize the interests of musicians so that we can establish a collaborative atmosphere with various stakeholders.
