Dani Filth Condemns The Use Of AI In Music Production: It's Very Hazardous

JAKARTA - Dani Filth, vocalist of the rock band Cradle of the Filth, was among those who opposed Artificial Intelligence (AI)'s intervention in music production. He firmly rejected this.

In an interview with the Metal Journal, Dani saw the role of technology in music as dangerous. The 51-year-old musician departed from his personal experience in arguing.

"It's dangerous. I have a friend who is a computer programmer. He wrote a code for computer games and various strange and amazing things, and last January I ate at his house and he showed me something that scared me half to death," said Dani Filth quoting Blabbermouth, November 29.

"He introduced a very new program at the time where you can really type the type of music you want, the lyrics of the song, the appearance of the video you want, the genre you put all this in and five minutes later, you've produced a song," he continued.

Although AI'smart' can make songs quickly, according to him, he has a big weakness.

"The problem is that he has no spirit, because basically he only takes a snippet of million information from the whole web and combines it very quickly. And he learns. I know artists who are AI creators, and the longer they do it, the better the results," he said.

More than that, the increasingly intelligent use of AI will take a lot from the musicians themselves. In a world that is increasingly capitalized, it is possible that people will only prioritize business rather than art itself.

"For example, you are a painter, or a band that spends a year writing albums, recording them, bringing together all the visuals, and releasing them together. These things can do almost instantly. So, it doesn't just rob the entertainment industry, be it music, art, theater, cinema, but once it's attached to a physical robot, something that physically can do the job created by his mind, it will affect every aspect of life," concluded Dani.
