The Reason Rob Bourdon Doesn't Join In Linkin Park's New Formation

JAKARTA - The absence of the name Rob Bourdon (ex- drum), which was replaced by Colin Brittain (drums), in Linkin Park's latest formation, is one of the surprising questions fans have been asking lately.

Mike Shinoda (vocals) also tried to explain Bourdon's absence from the Linkin Park reunion and how Brittain was a replacement for one of the initial personnel.

According to Shinoda, Bourdon began to distance himself from Linkin Park's activities after the band vacuumed after Chester Bennington's 2017 death.

"Rob once told us, maybe a few years ago, that he wanted to distance himself from the band," Mike Shinoda said during a recent interview with Billboard.

"And we understand that. It's clear," he continued.

Shinoda said Bourdon began to rarely appear and his communication with other personnel was minimal.

When Linkin Park re-released the Hybrid Theory and Papercuts albums, said Shinoda, the drummer did not appear at all.

"So for me, as a friend, it's sad," said Shinoda.

"But at the same time, I want him to do whatever makes him happy. And of course everyone wishes him the best," he added.

For information, Colin Brittain was announced as a Linkin Park personnel along with Emily Armstrong who replaced the late Chester Bennington.

In addition to new personnel, Linkin Park has also released a new single, announced a world tour schedule, and plans to launch a new album.
