Elvy Sukaesih's Important Message To Young Singers: Singing Honestly And Truely

JAKARTA - Senior singer Elvy Sukaesih has shown himself able to survive for six decades in the national music industry. He still appears on the music stage even though he is 73 years old.

When asked what his message is for young singers today, Elvy emphasized the need for honesty when singing.

From his long musical experience, he sees the importance of a singer having good vocal abilities, so what is recorded in the studio and displayed on stage is just as good.

"I have a message that I only have to be honest in singing," Elvy Sukaesih told the media crew in Cilandak, South Jakarta on Tuesday, August 27.

"The existing sound was shown. I recorded the same song, the voice was the same," he continued.

The 'night Train' singer felt that many singers had wrongly applied technology when recording, so that the vocal quality was ignored.

Rekaman sekarang banyak yang menyukai dinambel. Sampai saat ini saya mau tetap suara asli. Kalau suara sudah asli ya ruh kita keluar, agar lebih 'torok' lagi. Pesan saya, sinyi dengan benar, notasinya yang benar, baru uruskan perampilan yang beautiful, tutur Elvy.

"We are singers, not dancers. If a dancer does it, he just dances without sound. So the voice must be maintained, and the appearance that adjusts to your character," he continued.
