After The Viral Debut Song, Aldi Haqq Returns With New Experiments In Feels Like We're Still A Lover

JAKARTA - After the debut single 'Peak of Love' which went viral and won tens of millions of streams, Aldi Haqq returned with a new single entitled "First Like We're Still A Lover".

This single tells the story of two souls who have been together, met again, but not to get back together.

Felels Like We're Still A Lover illustrates that nothing can be forced, and sometimes a relationship is just destined to be a beautiful memory that cannot be repeated, although sometimes the relationship still feels warm.

Through this song, Aldi tries to translate his personal experience which he feels will resonate with many other people's experiences, that sometimes they realize even though it's hard, a relationship is better to stop and just become a memory.

"Trying to fight yourself and dare to tell a personal experience and become vulnerable to spilling a work is never easy, but a relief. Apart from lyrics, I make every melody a medium for me to tell," said Aldi Haqq in his statement, Friday, August 23.

In his musical journey, Aldi did make his personal experience the main inspiration in writing songs. He also experimented with various instruments.

Different from 'Peak of Love' which has a retro feel, Fels Like We're Still a Lover offers a more modern musical color with synthesizer playing and the sound of electric instruments.

The nuances of music in the latest single, said Aldi, are inspired by the musical colors and sound designs of Rex Orange County and The 1975. This is reflected in the exploration of various instruments such as synthesizers, keyboards, strings, and electric drums produced by Aldi.

Almost all production processes are carried out by Aldi alone, starting from lyric writing, musical composition, arrangement, to mixing. As for string recording, it was done with Gusti Irwan Wibowo and mastering by I Gede Pramayuastama.

There are reasons why strings are used. This element is considered the most dynamic to describe the emotional feelings you want to tell through songs, because the experience it feels is difficult to convey in lyric writing.

In addition, the sound of the piano at the end of the song, which is an instrument attached to Aldi, illustrates his feeling of surrender to the situation he is facing.

Like 'Peak of Love', single Feels Like We're Still A Lover' is expected to be able to make Aldi's pace in the music industry even faster, because he is also preparing a new single for next November, as part of his upcoming debut album.
