Celine Dion Is Called A Performer For The Opening Ceremony Of The 2024 Paris Olympics

JAKARTA - Celine Dion is said to be returning to appear on stage. The singer of 'Because You Loved Me' became one of the performers for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This is Celine Dion's first appearance since being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022, which makes her unable to sing on stage.

According to Variety's exclusive report, Celine arrived in Paris on Monday, July 22 local time, and immediately headed to the Royal Monceau hotel to stay there.

However, Celine Dion representatives have not confirmed the possibility of the diva appearing at the Olympics opening ceremony.

Previously, Celine Dion in April gave a leak about her comeback on stage.

I have chosen to work with my entire body and soul, from head to toe, with the medical team. I want to be the best I can. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again," Celine Dion told France's Vogue, citing Variety, Wednesday, July 24.

"For four years, I told myself that I will not come back, that I am ready, that I am not ready. At the moment, I cannot stand here and say to you, 'Yes, in four months'," Celine continued.

For information, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be held on Friday, July 26 local time.

For the first time, the opening of the Olympics will be held outside the stadium or arena. The ceremony will be held by navigating the SEEne and in several iconic places in Paris.
