Don Henley Files Lawsuit To Get Back Lirik Hotel California

JAKARTA - Don Henley, founder and member of the Eagles band, again filed a lawsuit to regain the lyrics of the 1970s handwritten Eagles song.

Previously, the manuscript was said to have been stolen and became object in a trial which was later dismissed in March.

The inscription contains about 100 sheets containing the lyrics of the song written by Don Henley himself. In it, there are also lyrics from the famous Hotel California song.

This 100-page personal lyric sheet belongs to Mr. Henley and his family. And he never allowed the defendant or anyone to sell it for profit, "said Daniel Petrocelli, Don Henley's lawyer, citing Rolling Stone, Monday, July 1.

Don Henley filed a lawsuit today to the New York federal court over the return of property stolen from him, (namely) his personal handwriting and the lyrics of the iconic song from the Hotel California album," Petrocelli continued.

In his new lawsuit, Don Henley sued memorabilia trader Edward Kosinski and former curator of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Craig Inciardi, in which the lawsuit was dropped in March.

Rare book seller Glenn Horowitz also faces similar criminal charges, but is not mentioned in the new lawsuit.

Henley sued Inciardi, Kosinki and Horowitz, who allegedly aspire to own stolen property in connection with the attempted auction of the lyric sheet.

"Henley is now asking for a return of this lyric sheet from DANY under New York law, which requires her to provide'satisfactory evidence for her title'," said lawyer Don Henley.

Since Kosinski and Inciardi also claim ownership of Henley's lyric sheet, this issue must be decided in a civil court with appropriate jurisdiction. Therefore, Henley requested a statement from the Court that he is the legal owner of his confiscated lyric sheet to provide "satisfactory evidence for his title" which would facilitate his property return to the Regional Prosecutor.
