Billie Joe Armstrong Kisses Red And White Flag At Green Day Live In Jakarta Concert

JAKARTA - Green Day is back in action in front of its fans in Indonesia, after their inaugural concert 29 years ago. Billie Joe Armstrong (main vocals, guitar), Mike Dirt (bass, background vocals), and Tré Cool (drums) appeared in a show titled Green Day Live in Jakarta which took place at Carnaval Ancol on Saturday, February 15 evening.

An interesting moment occurred when the California band performed Are We the Waiting', a song that became the material of the seventh studio album, American night (2024).

Suddenly, Billie came to the front of the stage, and took the Indonesian (Red and White) flag from the direction of the audience standing in front of him.

While singing the song, Billie draped the flag on his body. Every now and then, he raised the flag of the pride of the Indonesian people with his hands, which was immediately greeted with great fanfare.

Not only that, from the big screen on stage, Billie was seen kissing the Red and White flag.

Long enough the Red and White flag was draped around his body, even when he had switched from just singing to playing the guitar.

Throughout his appearance, Billie also revealed how he was grateful for the enthusiasm of the audience present.

"Oh my God. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you Jakarta," he said.

Meanwhile, the performance, which was promoted by Ravel Entertainment, was attended by tens of thousands of spectators from various regions in Indonesia.

Green Day performed for 105 minutes with a total of 24 songs, ranging from fan favorite songs from the 1990s, such as Welcome to Paradise, Longview, Basket Case, When J Come Around, and Brain Stew, to the material from their last album Saviors in 2024, such as The American Dream Is Killing Me, Dilemma, and Bobby totaling.

The songs from the American night' album made the audience excited the most. Almost all the songs from this album were performed, including American night, Holiday, Bouledvard of Broken Dreams, St. Jimmy, Give Me Novacaine, Letterbomb, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and Jesus of Suburbia.
