Gigi's Response Regarding Concert Organizers Who Haven't Paid Off Event Fillers

JAKARTA - The chaos at the Lentera Festival which took place in Tangerang last weekend became a bad record in the country's performance industry. What happened also caught the attention of musicians and music actors.

Gigi, a band full of experience in the music industry, saw what happened stemming from the negligence of the organizers who had not paid off many parties, especially the main performers.

Gusti Hendy (drum) said the bad precedent of the Lentera Festival should make musicians care more. He felt that the payment completion from the organizers of the performers should have been done long before the event.

"If I feel the point is that the completion of the contract and the payment has not been completed, that's why it happened like that. Why don't you just look for a safe way, a month earlier or two weeks earlier it had to be paid off," said Gusti Hendy in Thamrin, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, June 25.

"At least the previous two weeks have been paid off. If the two weeks have not been paid off, then that's it, they (the organizers) also still have time to announce that the event is canceled," said Armand Maulana.

Hendy said musicians should also pay more attention, although there are no points in the contract that found them guilty.

Furthermore, Armand also highlighted the perspective of event organizers (EO) or music promoters who expect income from ticket sales. According to him, this perspective is very risky to apply in music concerts.

"In my opinion, most of the organizers, especially those recently, were all piled up on tickets. Actually, it's not. Tickets are actually bonuses, tickets are who know they will sell out. Even though you want to bring a thousand bands, it's not necessarily a sold out, right," said Armand.

"If you rely on a ticket, it's difficult. If it's a show or every show or whatever, the sponsor will chase it. It must be from a sponsor. But if you rely on no sponsors and only tickets, who will be willing to sell out until day H," he concluded.
