Piyu And Ahmad Dhani Protest For Not Involved In Event Licensing

JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Composite Association (AKSI) protested the inauguration of the licensing service for the event.

In the video uploaded to the official ACTION's Instagram account, Piyu as the Chair stated that her party was invited to the inauguration ceremony, but they refused because they were not involved in the previous discussion.

"In this case, we object if we are not involved or we are not included in the formulation or in the construction of the online event licensing," Piyu said in an ACTION Instagram upload, Sunday, June 23.

Speaking to President Joko Widodo, Piyu said that the involvement of songwriters in licensing events would be a good precedent for awarding works of art.

"Because with the involvement of us songwriters or composers throughout Indonesia, of course this is a good precedent, a good example for the use of copyright or for awards for copyright itself," said Piyu.

Ahmad Dhani as the Board of ACTION Trustees also conveyed his complaints. He objected because he did not know the contents of the inauguration of the licensing service for the event.

"And we as songwriters, we don't know the format yet. Because so far as a party that has never benefited from using songs in live events, we quite object if suddenly there is a grand launching of a new regulation that we don't know anything about at all," said Dhani.

"And since 2014 we have never had the right to use songs in live events. Therefore, we ask Mr. Jokowi not to or resign from the launch, so we are involved in making these regulations."

For information, the inauguration of the licensing service for the event will continue at The Tribrata, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta this morning. President Joko Widodo is known to attend the event.
