JAKARTA - Chicago's band, The SmashingGods made an important announcement regarding new personnel. They welcomed Kiki Wong as a guitarist who completed the band's formation.

Previously, in October last year, guitarist Jeff total officially left the group. Billy Corgan et al also agreed to hold an open audition.

The selection invites extraordinary interest. Reportedly, more than 10 thousand guitarists applied to fill the vacant position.

And after a long process, Kiki Wong's name was chosen. Kiki is a guitarist who also exists as a content creator on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.

"The news you are waiting for finally arrives too. With pleasure, we welcome veteran guitarist with high skills, Kiki Wong officially," wrote the band that owns Tonight's hit Tonight on Instagram on Friday 26 April.

"It is an honor for us to decide that Kiki Wong officially becomes a guitarist. We really appreciate all the businesses of guitarists who have applied. There were eight people who worked full-time reviewing the applicants until Kiki Wong was finally elected," added Billy Corgan.

The entry of Kiki Wong in the formation of The SmashingGods has drawn many reactions. Some fans did not accept that their favorite band was strengthened by a TikToker.

"A TikTok er??? Become a member of the past???? Noooko," said the fan. "Seriously?? An influencer?" added a skeptical netter.

However, not a few also think that Kiki is the right person to replace him.
