Music Critic Calls The Torturing Poets Department Only Talks To Taylor Swift

JAKARTA - United States music critic for NPR, Ann Powers expressed her opinion on Taylor Swift's latest album, The Torted Poets Department.

Powers said Swift was caught up in making songs that tell her personal life, and the result was a question, for whom the songs were talking to?

"On Taylor Swift's 11th album, her art is entangled in the details of her personal life and its application as a celebrity," said Ann Powers, citing NPR Music's Instagram upload, Thursday, April 25.

However, Swift's lack of concern about whether these songs can speak to anyone except herself, heard on all albums.

The 60-year-old critic continued his opinion by emphasizing the approach model Swift uses on her new album.

Swift's music approach is always enthusiastic and absorbing. He created his own voice by combining a sturdy country song structure with R&B vibrations, rap rhythms, and pop luxury," Powers said.

Torturing Poets' voice offers a familiar hug, with sparkling pop songs with intelligence, and meditative songs wrapping a lot of soothing aura around Swift's reflection, he said.
