Dave Mustaine Not Interested In Making Conceptual Albums

JAKARTA - In an interview with Heavy Consequence, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine revealed the reason he was reluctant to make a conceptual album.

"No. I've never been interested in making conceptual albums. I think it's a bit restrictive. And to take the idea and beat it and produce 10, 12 songs from it - there's much more to be written about."

"When you have so much music to write, why should you have so much music and not lyrics to balance it? If you're really a songwriter, you should be able to do both," Dave continued.

"A lot of people here, even today, are just musicians; they are not songwriters. And some people who are songwriters in the band are not songwriters. So, it's always fun to see people who are experts in their skills."

Beyond the discussion of the conceptual album, Megadeth played his first concert with the new guitarist Teemu Mywantysaari on September 6 at Revel in feasibility, New Mexico.

36-year-old Mohyntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and started playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, he joined the band aired. He has also been a member of Smackbound since 2015.

M Wayntysaari entered Megadeth as a substitute for the previous guitarist, Kiko Loureiro, who announced that he would miss the "Crush The World" Megadeth tour to stay at home with his children in Finland.

Loureiro officially joined Megadeth in April 2015, about five months after Chris Brodeck's release from the band.
