JAKARTA - Frontman The Up Shields and Morfem, Jimi Multhazam, revealed the story he experienced when he was in contact with the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN).

The 51-year-old musician admitted that he was surprised, because LMKN always collects royalties from his stage performances, even though he is not a member.

"Until now, I have not registered with LMKN, only a few times I have performed (shown), it was cut by LMKN. I don't know where (theroyalty) is," Jimi told the media crew at Pondok Labu, South Jakarta recently.

Jimi's admiration was based, as most of the songs he performed were songs he wrote with bandmates.

Until the last performance I also still had a cut, a few percent of the ticket. Even on my podcast (still cut)," said Jini.

"I'm still not clear, I might invite LMKN, but until now there is still no explanation about that," he continued.

Even so, that doesn't mean Jimi rejects the existence of LMKN as the party managing music royalties. However, he hopes that the existing system will run better than before.

"I still agree with LMKN, as clear as possible. Because it's as easy as you can call us on our Instagram account for this sharing problem, but he said for songwriters it hasn't been entered at all from LMKN," said Jimi.

"Yes, maybe he said the system is being built, so we will immediately build it. If this is a good faith, then I will definitely support it," he concluded.
