Billie Eilish Stops Intimate Concert in London Due to Overcrowded

JAKARTA - Billie Eilish held an intimate concert in London and stopped several times to help fans who were overcrowded.

A last-minute surprise concert was held at the Electric Ballroom venue in Camden on the evening of August 29 and presented the pop star to a crowded house.

Eilish announced details of the show on Saturday, August 26 — the day after she headlined Leeds Festival's opening night, and just before she closed Reading 2023.

Unsurprisingly, tickets sold out almost immediately, and some fans even camped outside the venue the night before.

However, those lucky enough to get tickets immediately clamored to get as close to the singer as possible, so the show was stopped several times.

The first example occurred on the third song of her 20-song setlist, Therefore I Am, when Eilish stopped twice in the middle of the concert, to check on the audience and urge security members to hand out water.

“Can we get these people some water?” she asked, looking around for stage staff to help the excited crowd.

“Where is the security? Am I safe now?”

“I haven't played in a small venue for six years. I forgot how to do this… I'm having an anxiety attack right now,” she continued, looking around in concern as the packed crowd asked her for water.

“This feels like a good idea…. You guys look like you're going to die, take a step back.”

This was the first time Eilish had stopped a concert out of concern for fans' safety, later criticizing an alleged lack of security at the venue.

“Jeez, Louise. Nobody answered me,” she shouted into a microphone on set after asking if anyone could supply water to struggling viewers.

“It's been a minute since we've done this,” she said, again urging everyone to step back before she continued her set.

“Who needs inhalers? I feel like I'm babysitting. Are you okay if I continue this concert?”

In the set, Eilish played several fan favorites, including Bad Guy, Happier Than Ever, and Bury a Friends', as well as teasing lesser-played songs including My Boy.
