JAKARTA - Metallica successfully attracted nearly 80 thousand fans to the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday last week, August 25, in the first concert of the two venues.
This is the largest number of spectators in the history of the SoCal stadium, which opened in September 2020.
Amazingly, the metal legend based in the San Francisco Bay Area also managed to attract spectators with the same capacity two days later.
Fans bought more than 156,000 tickets for two concert stands, which is part of Metallica's "M72" world tour.
The "M72" tour features a bold new stage design. Their famous Snake Pit stage has now been moved to the center, allowing promoters to sell more tickets than usual.
And because Metallica's stage has a hole in the center, there is more room to accommodate fans.
According to Billboard, the Metallica giant ring-shaped stage also includes eight monitor towers and speakers, with each tower supported by a high platform that doubles as VIP seating, with eight folding chairs decorated with a black-down color scheme from the band's new album, 72 Seasons.
The "M72" tour was launched at the end of April in Amsterdam.

Part of the results of this tour were donated to Metallica's All Within My Hands foundation, which seeks to help and enrich the lives of community members who have supported the band and combat food insecurity; providing disaster assistance; and providing scholarships.
Metallica production in this tour was carried out by deploying 87 trucks 45 for the band and the arrangement, plus two groups consisting of 21 trucks each for the steel and tower stages. There are 130 people on the band crew, plus 40 steel workers, local employees, and truck drivers.
Metallica manager Cliff Burnstein told Billboard that between 80 percent and 90 percent of fans at each concert attended both shows.
Meanwhile, Metallica's two-night stand at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas earlier this month was broadcast live to theaters around the world. This marks Metallica's first appearance in Texas since November 2021, when the band played before, during, and after the Globe Life Field event.
