Verbeuren Doesn't Know Mr's Song. Brightside, But Plays It Perfectly

JAKARTA - Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren plays Mr. Brightside from The Killers after hearing the song for the first time.

For the Drumeo series on YouTube, the thrash metal drummer is tasked with listening to a song without drums once before playing the drum fillings of the song.

In this case, the Drumeo team chose Mr. Brightside, which he said Verbeuren had never heard of before.

While listening to the song, the camera headed for Drumeo crew, who was surprised that Verbeuren didn't recognize the song that was so popular.

Verbeuren then performed one song, with his own drum composition. His views on Mr. Brightside slowed everything down, but kept the core tap from the original.

Before performing the song, Verbeuren was asked if he knew the song or the artist who performed it, and he admitted he didn't know.

However, he then 'rustrated' the song structure, which allowed him to play it once in a listen.

After playing it, Verbeuren finally asked the song crew and what band he had just heard. When he was told he had heard Mr. Brightside, he told the crew he had heard of the band, but wasn't sure if he had heard of the song before.

Drumeo's crew later said they would send Verbeuren's version of the recording to The Killers drummer Ricky Vannucci Jr., before drummer Megadeth said: Ronnie, don't hate me. I did my best, man.

After listening to the original version, Verbeuren said: "Badass. I have to say, I can see why this is classic. It's a killer song. I can really see how it will apply on stage and people will go crazy. Good drum filling, very balanced."
