JAKARTA - Recently, PT Benelli Motor Indonesia launched an electric sticker under the Keeway EV brand, Anne at the 2023 Periclindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS).

In addition to displaying the Anne model, Benelli also displays several motors or electric stickers in booth areas, such as the E-Bike Type-1 Pro, Dong electric scooters, and many others.

Despite trying to enter the realm of electrification in order to support government programs, Benelli Indonesia still wants to present combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles with performance above the average which is a marwah from the manufacturer.

Steven Kencana Putra, as President Director of PT Benelli Motor Indonesia, said that his party is trying to develop a motorbike that will later fill the ICE engine segment which will soon be presented in Indonesia.

"Please pray, in 7 months Benelli is developing a new motorbike," said Steven during an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the 2023 PEVS event in Jakarta.

Steven said Benelli was developing a motorbike that had a 250 cc specification to immediately follow its competitors such as Kawasaki.

"I just came from China to see the motorbike. I gave it a leak, the motorbike had an ICE 4-cylinder 250 cc engine. We will follow our rivals," said Steven.

Even though he revealed the specifications, Steven did not want to give a leak about the type of motorbike. There is a possibility that the motorbike is sport fairing.

"For what type of motorbike, we will tell you later. I only tell you the specifications in a more fierce voice," explained Steven.

He also hopes that its development will take place quickly so that the motorbike can arrive in Indonesia at the earliest during this August GIIAS event. Although, there is a possibility that Benelli will bring it to the country towards the end of the year.

"They are developing their motorbikes. I need to ask for confirmation of the factory or not to be presented at GIIAS," said Steven.
