Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Electric Version Has 500 Hp Power, Launches Next Year

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz has launched the latest CLA by bringing changes from design to technology. Not only that, but the sedan also started brand steps in offering more electric vehicles.

The latest generation CLA is not only born in the standard version, but is also offered in the high performance variant developed by the AMG division.

Autocar reported, Monday, March 18, the car that will use the name CLA 45 will have a high performance and have more than 500 hp of power.

The power comes from the latest axial flux electric motor technology. This is the driver who is patented by AMG and will be present in several models such as GT 4-door Couple and GT SUV which are rumored to be launching in 2026.

Mercedes-Benz's Chief Technical Officer, Markus Schafer, said the high-performance CLA EV will also launch in the same year following two other models.

We have built a second pillar in terms of the powertrain developed by Yasa. It is available in all line of models, "said Schafer.

Electric motors for the AMG model will be developed through a partnership with Yasa, a UK-based technical firm that was acquired by Mercedes-Benz in 2021.

It is stated that Mercedes-AMG has developed a number of different 800V drivetrain combinations based on its axial flux motor technology, including the tuning of three electric motors.

It is hoped that these drivers will not only provide high performance and torque, but also have more sophisticated torque vector properties.

The presence of the high-performance electric vehicle aims to position AMG on the front lines of performing electric vehicles and is a direct response to its competing BMW M plan to provide future performance models, including the EV version of M3 which has up to 1.000 power phones.
