Himperra: Developers Don't Have A Clear Role In The Three Million Houses Program

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Association for Settlement and Public Housing Development (Himperra) Ari Tri Piyono admitted that housing developers have not yet had a clear role in the three million house program.

"Developers are confused about where to take a role. The construction of one million houses in urban areas, one million in coastal areas and one million in rural areas, it is not clear how to make it happen," said Ari Tri Piyono in his statement in Tangerang, quoted by Antara, Friday, March 21.

Therefore, Himperra together with four other associations such as Realestat Indonesia (REI), the All-Indonesian Housing and Settlement Development Association (Apersi), the National Housing Development and Marketing Association (Asprumnas) and the Jaya National Housing Development Alliance (Appernas Jaya) have conducted an audience with the Indonesian House of Representatives to express their aspirations.

The hope is that the three million house program launched by the Government can immediately proceed as expected by housing actors.

In addition, the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) which is the main carriage in supporting the housing development climate can also accommodate regulations that encourage growth in the property sector.

"Hopefully after we come to the DPR and write to the President, the three million house program can be realized soon," he said.

He also explained that the construction of subsidized houses fully uses capital expenditures or capex prepared by companies, not using state budgets.

So that there is an audit plan for development companies, very non-conductive and irresponsible persons can take advantage of it.

"We have received reports that several fellow developers were summoned by law enforcement asking for information about licensing, certificates, and even iron to build houses. We have officially reported them to the police and they are not APH domains," said Ari.
