Audi Suddenly Tests Offroad EV Car, Dakar Version Q6?

JAKARTA - Audi is one of the most busy automotive manufacturers this year. The reason is, this German brand is preparing a number of models as its vehicle line in the future.

Recently, the manufacturer with the 'four rings' logo intends to launch a sturdy electric offroad car. This is evidenced by the catch of a spy camera showing the EV being tested.

Autocar reported on Thursday, September 19, the car looks striking with camouflage blankets and large offroad tires and displays a useful rooftop rack in placing items.

Reportedly the car will carry the base of Q6 E-tron Sportback, but has higher dimensions and width when compared to its standard SUVs.

Despite being covered with camouflage stickers, it is clear that this car has a front bumper more aggressive than Q6 with revised DRL lights and water-intake greater than its standard SUV.

Thus, this reinforces the allegation that Audi is preparing an off-road or Edition Dakar Q6 model as presented in the Q8 E-tron.

There is also the possibility that the car is prepared to celebrate the success of Audi winning the Dakar rally earlier this year. After winning it, this brand surprisingly withdrew from the World Rally Raid Championship competition in March.

However, this tough-designed car will not carry the PPE platform like any other Audi electric car. In addition, the proportion is more similar to the Activesphere concept that was introduced last year. Unfortunately, the brand has yet to comment on this latest prototype image.

Activesphere is the highest caste of the concept car introduced by Audi. This model is not only a design experiment but also above the modular electric drive platform that Audi developed in collaboration with the brand under the same parent company, Porsche.
