JAKARTA - Chinese technology giant Xiaomi, which is now enlivening the electric vehicle market, has started shipping its first electric sedan to customers for the Standard and Max variants.

"It's 12 days ahead of Xiaomi's original plan to start deliveries by the end of April, and SU7 Pro deliveries will still start in late May," he said.

As previously reported, Xiaomi officially launched SU7 on March 28, offering three variants namely Standard, Pro, and Max at a starting price of 215,900 yuan (Standards) or around Rp. 484 million, 245,900 yaun (Max) or Rp. 552 million and 299,900 yuan (Pro) in the range of Rp. 673 million.
Previously, shipments of standardized versions and Max of customized cars would begin at the end of April, and Pro's version in late May, the company said at its launch event.
"Currently, Xiaomi EV shipping centers cover 29 cities in China, and the number will increase to 40 by the end of this year," Lei said.
When asked if Xiaomi EV would launch an SUV (sport utility vehicle) model and a model at a price of around 100,000 yuan, Lei did not disclose any information.
"The plan for the new car is currently still kept secret and we will focus on SU7," he said.
