JAKARTA - During the Eid holiday period in 2024, the use of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) managed by PLN Jakarta's Main Distribution Unit (UID) recorded an increase of 300% compared to the previous year.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta shows that the number of kWh recorded at SPKLU during this year's Eid holiday period has increased dramatically compared to the previous year.

"We noted that the use of the PLN UID Raya SPKLU during the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2024 reached a total of 50,156 kWh, an increase of more than three times compared to the number of kWh recorded in the same period in 2023 which was only 15,775 kWh," said General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta, Lasiran.

This increase reflects the growing use of electric vehicles in the Jakarta area. In addition, the increasing use of SPKLU in Jakarta also shows the large number of use of electric vehicles in Jakarta by residents who do not go home to their hometowns.

Not only is the energy consumption increasing, but the number of SPKLU transactions in Jakarta has also increased significantly.

"During the Eid holiday period in 2024, the number of SPKLU transactions in Jakarta reached 4,363, an increase compared to the previous year which only recorded 2,723 transactions," said Lasiran.

Responding to this positive trend, Lasiran is committed to continuing to provide SPKLU infrastructure to support the growth of electric vehicles in the Jakarta area.

Lasiran also said that PLN remained on standby for electricity and SPKLU during the Eid period in Jakarta. One of the goals is to ensure that Jakarta residents who do not go home can comfortably stay in touch with PLN's electricity reliability.

We have provided 84 SPKLU units and 41 SPBKLU units spread across several locations. Where this will provide easier access for users of electric motorized vehicles to charge, thus encouraging the wider use of electric vehicles in Jakarta," concluded Lasiran.
