JAKARTA - Honda has introduced two of its newest models of concept under the name 'Seri 0', under the name Space-Hub as a van and a sleek-designed car called the Saloon in the 2024 Consumer Electronic Show (CES).

These two cars are also said to be the basis of Honda's future electric vehicle (EV) which will be launched in the coming years. In fact, the manufacturer claims that the Saloon concept will come in a production version that is not much different from the preview version.

Toshihiro Mibe, as CEO of Honda, explained that the slim and sharp car will be present in the production version by having similarities to the concept version.

"The production model will be very similar to this concept, will be present for the first time in the US and then around the world in 2026," Mibe said as quoted by InsideEVs, Thursday, January 11.

Thus, some of the attributes from the Saloon, such as the screen as a substitute for the lattice and the door to the wings of the fire, will also be presented in the form of a production version.

In addition, the visual appearance of this vehicle that looks very radical and striking with traditional box designs will also be presented in its production version. Seen from its shape, Saloon reminded the design of the Lamborghini Countach which was at the top of the supercar in the 1970s and 1980s.

Its low roof lines and slippery silhouettes will help reduce barriers and increase coverage, which is the main concern of electric vehicles and displays the latest manufacturer logo for their EV lineup.

As for the battery, Honda says it will use a high-density battery designed to minimize long-term degradation.

The company aims to minimize battery capacity degradation to less than 10% after 10 years of use. Then for Honda charging it claims 10 to 15 minutes faster than the current model's average time.
