JAKARTA - After Tonale managed to steal the show with Tonale, now the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo is ready to launch a compact crossover that is ready to pave the way in 2024.

The name Alfa Romeo chose for the brand's first Sport Urban Vehicle, Milano's name was chosen as a tribute to the factory's hometown.

Although there has been no official image leak from the company's release, December 14, or technical details of Milano is still closed tightly. Alfa Romeo only confirmed that Milano will also be available in EV versions, indicating the possibility of a variant of gasoline or hybrid.

If you look at his brother, Jeep Fighter, Milano will most likely share a kitchen runway. This means that the 1.2 liter turbo three-cylindrical engine, which is paired with a hybrid system, has the potential to be present, producing about 155 hp and 240 Nm torque.

Well, for the electric variant, it is estimated that the 53 kWh battery will support a single electric motor in the front wheels, resulting in 154 hp and 192 lb-ft torque power. This electric version of the distance is predicted to reach 400 km in the WLTP cycle.

Unfortunately, the presence of a model other than EV for Milano slightly injured Alfa Romeo's previous commitment which only launched an electric car after Tonale.

"The next vehicle after Tonale is BEV," said Larry Dominique, head of North America's Alfa Romeo, as reported by Carbuzz, December 15.

Even so, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato remains enthusiastic.

"With Milano's arrival in 2024, Alfa Romeo completes a line of products that are able to meet the wishes of all of our fans and more. Milano is meant to be a symbolic 'welcome back' for all of our fans," said Imparato, in a company release.

Imparato also said Milano was the first milestone in the brand-to-electric transition process and, like Tonale, also had an important task of further strengthening Alfa Romeo's global presence.

Regarding when Milano will be officially introduced, Alfa Romeo is still keeping it a secret. However, they promised to open it in more detail in April 2024.
