Volkswagen Joins New Safety Features, Will Become Standards For ID.7 To Tiguan Models

JAKARTA - Volkswagen announced the latest safety feature dubbed the exit warning system or car exit warning system, and will be a new standard for ID.7, Passat, and Tiguan models.

Quoted from Volkswagen's official website, Saturday, December 9, the three models above will be equipped with new hardware, so that the feature can function properly and be useful for users.

Depending on the embedded car model, this latest feature works in a slightly different way. For example, on VW ID.7 which can scan the back area using a radar sensor (it is found in the bumper), the way it works where the LED light in the rear mirror will automatically turn on, when the road user approaches or the motorcycle rider.

Interestingly, the aid system will remain active for three minutes after the car is parked and turned off, to protect all passengers who get out of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, this system works similarly on Passat and Tiguan models, but because this car uses a mechanical door handle, there is no half-opening as much as in ID.7.

It's just that the feature will also activate the LED light on the rearview mirror, to let road users know that they are approaching.

For owners of VW Golf, ID.4 and ID.5, there is no need to worry, because this latest safety feature can also be embedded as an option, and hardware will be added so that the feature can function. However, it did not explain in more detail the cost of adding the feature.

The presence of this new safety feature can certainly keep Volkswagen users safe and comfortable, when they want to get out of the car and avoid unexpected events.
