Ordered 400 Units And Locally Built, Chery Omoda E5 Sent February 2024

JAKARTA - The first Chery electric car in Indonesia, namely Omoda E5, is officially assembled locally, or Completely Knocked Down (CKD), in Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, West Java and will be sent to consumers starting February 2024.

Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) Harry Kamora, said that currently the electric car has received a pre-booking order for 400 SPK, and will be sent in two batches.

"To fulfill the SPK, two batches will be completed, first February and March 2024. But we hope that the initial order (at the GIIAS event) will be completed in February, because until now the SPK will continue," he said, when met in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 6.

In addition to fulfilling the delivery of the Omoda E5 unit, Harry said the electric car would meet a network of dealers for display and could test drives. Because there are many requests outside Java for this car.

"When we first introduced it, we imported the unit, the right steering wheel because it has not been produced. So outside Jakarta, many are curious," said Harry again.

Some of the areas in question are Kalimantan, Samarinda, to Balikpapan, which on average rely on four-wheel drive SUVs aka all-wheel drives (AWD) for daily activities.

Speaking of specifications, Omoda E5 uses a battery with a capacity of 61 kWh. Make it produce 221 hp of power and acceleration from 0-100 km within 7.8 seconds, and will be present at a distance of 450 km.

Meanwhile, when viewed, the design of this electric car is similar to the Omoda 5 version of gasoline which looks modern and futuristic. It is worth waiting for its presence on Indonesian roads.
