VinFast is one of the new players in the automotive industry, but the products presented range from design, performance, to technology are able to fight big producers in today's market share. The automotive manufacturer from Vietnam recently introduced VF7.

Reporting from InsideEVs, Wednesday, November 22, VF7 was introduced in Vietnam's domestic market, with plans to expand to the global market in the near future. The SUV is available in two variants, namely Base and Plus, with both offering impressive performance.

The VF7 Base variant is powered by a single electric motor with up to 174 dk of power. This motorbike is powered by a 59.6 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 374 km according to WLTP calculations.

Meanwhile, the Plus variant offers higher specifications with electric motors measuring 201 dk in front wheels driving, paired with a larger 75.3 kWh battery.

In the Vietnamese market, the price of VF7 reaches 850 million Vietnamese Dong or around Rp545.6 million. However, it should be noted that the price does not include batteries, which are sold separately as vehicle resource centers. If the battery is included, the price of VF7 will rise to 999 Vietnam Dong or equivalent to Rp641.5 million for the lowest variant.

It is known, VinFast has plans to build a factory in Indonesia with all its potential as one of the largest vehicle markets in the world. The local assembly process, or CKD (Completely Knock Down), will begin in 2026 in the hope of producing 50,000 electric vehicles (EV) annually.

VinFast has ambitions to sell its EVs in Southeast Asia, Europe and Canada. Despite facing fierce competition, especially from big producers such as Tesla, Toyota, VW, and Honda, VinFast is optimistic that he can compete in the global market share.
