Chery Prepares To Present The Latest Variant Of Omoda 5 With A Complete Safety Feature And Aggressive Performance

JAKARTA - Since returning to Indonesia in 2022, Chery has made a surprise by launching models such as the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro which offer different performances and premium features. Coupled with the success of Omoda 5, which has succeeded in attracting the attention of Indonesian consumers thanks to its luxurious design and affordable prices. This further spurs Chery's enthusiasm in presenting new variants.

PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), as Chery's Brand Holder Agent (APM), will now introduce the latest variant of Omoda 5. According to Chery, this new variant is not only equipped with complete safety features, but also has more aggressive performance.

Shawn Xu, President of PT CSI and Vice President of Chery International, explained that the latest variant of Omoda 5 is an overview of the future of the automotive market in Indonesia, combining elegant designs with advanced technology.

"With some of the latest changes, the car offers the perfect combination of aggressive engine performance, comfort, and driving safety," Shawn said in a statement, Tuesday, September 12.

With the presence of the latest variant of Omoda 5, Chery further affirms its commitment to providing a variety of high-quality options for customers.

According to Chery, the latest variant of Omoda 5 will provide high-power performance with more responsive acceleration. The transmission system will also be overhauled to provide a better driving experience. In addition, the design will be refreshed with additional strip elements that will give a more aggressive impression on this vehicle.

Although Chery has not detailed the complete specifications, this new variant is expected to have a price of around IDR 480 million.

Currently, the Chery Omoda 5 is available in several variants, including Z type and RZ type, as well as two machine options: 1.600 cc TGDI engine with 194 dk power and 290 Nm torque, as well as 1,500 cc TCI engine with 155 dk power and 230 Nm torque. The current price of Chery Omoda 5 ranges from IDR 329 million for Z type and IDR 399 million for RZ type.

In addition to the gasoline variant, Chery has also introduced the Omoda 5 EV in the Indonesian market. This electric car is equipped with a 61 kWh battery which is capable of producing 221 dk of power. Omoda 5 EV is able to reach speeds of 0-100 km/h within 7.8 seconds and has a battery range of up to 450 km at full time.

Not only that, but Omoda 5 EV also has fast charging technology, which allows charging from 0 to 80 percent in just 25 minutes.

Delivery of the Omoda 5 EV unit in Indonesia is scheduled to begin in early 2024, with a delivery time that will be adjusted to the queue of orders.
