JAKARTA - Today's memory, six years ago, January 1, 2019, the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno revealed that the new year was a revival event. The statement was revealed by both of them because the upcoming April 2019 presidential election was held.

Previously, Prabowo again challenged Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the presidential election contestation. Prabowo is confident that his hockey will run in 2019. He then chose the right partner. Several names were present. However, the choice fell to Sandi.

Prabowo does not want to be reckless about choosing a partner for the 2019 presidential election. The problem of choosing a vice presidential candidate is a big deal. He believes that his deputy candidate at least has a high selling power for the Indonesian people. The regulation is considered to be able to bring a lot of votes.

Prabowo and the Gerindra Party began to struggle to find potential candidates. The names of national figures were prepared, from politicians to religious scholars. Prabowo initially wanted to be paired with Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS). However, UAS refused because he wanted to focus on the da'wah road.

The choice ultimately led to Anies Baswedan. Prabowo considers that the Governor of DKI Jakarta also has great potential in capturing the voices of the Indonesian people. There is no doubt about closeness matters. Prabowo once orbited Anies in the 2017 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election contestation and won.

Prabowo tried to lobby Anies. The lobby was done not only once, but three times. Each of the proposals was carried out during the fasting month, a few days after Eid, until Anies was summoned to Prabowo's residence in July 2018. The result was nil.

Anies rejected Prabowo's three proposals. Anies reasoned that he did not want to disappoint the citizens of Jakarta. His promises during the campaign were tried, including staying until his term as Governor of DKI Jakarta expired. Prabowo Then took the option of making Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Sandiaga Uno his partner.

Anies said he rejected Prabowo's offer because he wanted to concentrate on fixing DKI Jakarta. According to Anies, there are many promises to his voters, residents of Jakarta, who have not been fulfilled. The invitation to become a vice presidential candidate is an honor. Pak Prabowo respects the attitude to hold a commitment.

"Anies' refusal to accompany Prabowo seems to be on the radar of a number of parties who want to build a new axis. Presidential election registration is getting closer. They don't want to just be fixated on Prabowo and Joko Widodo's blocks and don't carry their own candidates," said Hussein Abri Dongoran in his writing in Tempo magazine entitled Bubar Jalan Poros Ketiga(2018).

Prabowo was even more determined with Sandi. Both of them began to formulate all kinds of agendas in the future, including campaign promises. This condition made both of them strengthen their steps to win the 2019 presidential election.

Prabowo-Sandi showed this confidence at the beginning of the new year on January 1, 2019. Prabowo-Sandi wished all Indonesian people a happy new year. Prabowo-Sandi specifically referred to the momentum of the new year as a sign of a revival.

Prabowo-Sandi also mentioned 2019 as the year of determination. Year full of kindness for all Indonesians. The remarks refer to the presidential election contestation which will be held in April.
