JAKARTA Memories today, 12 years ago, October 19, 2011, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) inaugurated Dahlan Iskan as the new Minister of SOEs. The appointment of Dahlan Iskan was carried out to replace the previous SOE Minister Mustafa Abubakar.

Previously, no one doubted Dahlan Iskan's capacity in the media business. He was able to build his media business empire, Jawa Pos Group. Dahlan's ability to lead was tested when he entered the government as President Director of PLN.

SBY's government decision to choose Dahlan Iskan as President Director of PLN was unanimous in 2009. The owner of power believes Dahlan can bring change. However, the government's expectations are not in line with the most people.

One thing he understands is working and answering the government's trust with a breakthrough. He began to perpetuate a series of policies. PLN studies that often choose blackout options to meet Nusantara's electricity needs are starting to be reduced. From 150 times per customer per year, so it's only 50 times per customer per year.

The target is getting bigger after that. In fact, Dahlan wanted the blackout option not to be taken again by PLN. Measured steps were also prepared. He added PLN's electric power to make it bigger. Dahlan considers Indonesia's economic progress to be highly dependent on electricity.

Constraints such as blackouts will actually harm the Indonesian people. Take, for example, Indonesia's electricity needs are 30,000 megawatts, so PLN must be able to provide 36,000 megawatts. He then launched a prepaid electrical revolutionary idea.

His skills in leading PLN were discussed here and there. He, who was initially doubtful, began to be admired by many parties. His breakthrough was able to silence many pessimistic voices. Dahlan also gave an example that fixing PLN was able to be perpetuated with good leadership.
