Lyodra Is Nominated For The 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards

JAKARTA - Young singer Lyodra Ginting was included in the Best Southeast Asia Act category at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA).

Shortly after being announced, Lyodra shared her joy via Instagram. “I am delighted to announce I am an EMA nominee! Go to mtvema.com and give your support!” said Lyodra in English.

Lyodra competed with SB19 from the Philippines, Ink Waruntorn from Thailand, JJ Lin from Singapore, K-ICM from Vietnam, and Naim Daniel from Malaysia.

Previously, several Indonesian musicians had been nominated at the MTV EMA, namely NOAH (2013, 2014, 2015), Raisa (2016), Isyana Sarasvati (2017), Afgan (2018), Rich Brian (2019), and Agnez Mo (2020).

So far, no Indonesian musician has won the MTV EMA trophy. On the other hand, Lyodra is the youngest singer from Indonesia to receive this nomination.

The MTV EMA is an award created by Viacom to honor pop culture musicians. This event was first held in 1994 at the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, Germany.
