'The Hunger Games' Prequel Releases In 2024, Starts Filming Next Year

JAKARTA - The Hunger Games film trilogy will have a story in the form of a prequel. Reportedly, the production process will begin in 2022.

Cited from Deadline today, August 8, this news was shared by Lionsgate chairman, Joe Drake. This prequel is adapted from Susan Collins' novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which was released in 2020.

The story focuses on Coriolanus Snow who is chosen to be the mentor of the 10th Hunger Games for a girl from District 12. Living in the midst of adversity, Snow wants to change her fate by joining the Hunger Games.

In the film The Hunger Games, Snow is the antagonist President of Panem and has a psychopathic brain.

This news also confirms the rumors that have been circulating since several years ago. Given the success of The Hunger Games trilogy, it is not impossible to produce a prequel story.

However, it is not yet known whether the title of the film will match the book version, but what is certain is that film production will begin in the first half of next year.

Lionsgate also targets the Hunger Games prequel to hit theaters in late 2023 or early 2024.
