Loki Becomes MCU's First Bisexual Character

JAKARTA - The character Loki from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) made history as the first bisexual character. This was revealed from episode three of the Loki series which was released on Wednesday, June 23.

Through the latest episode, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, reveals his bisexual identity to Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino).

Upon release, director Kate Herron, who directed the episode, wrote of her feelings for the character.

"It's a part of him and me too. I know it's a small step but I'm happy, my heart is full", Herron said.

Di Martino, who plays Sylvie, responded to Herron's tweet by praising the beautiful use of color in Loki and Sylvie's scenes.

The Loki series follows the journey of a runaway main character who is thrown to an unnamed planet and brought in by TVA (Time Variance Authority), an organization that manages the multiverse in order to avoid changes in the past and future.

The series can be watched every Wednesday via the Disney+ streaming service.
