The First Electric Car From Malaysia Is Selling Well, Ordered 2,500 Units

JAKARTA - The automotive brand from Malaysia, Proton has launched its first electric car called eMas 7 which is available in the Prime and Premium variants ranging from 109,800 ringgit to 123,800 ringgit (Rp397.3 million to Rp447.9 million).

Launching from Paultan, Saturday, December 28, the debut of this car is quite impressive by successfully obtaining 2,500 orders since its launch on December 16. This is inseparable from the manufacturer which provides discounts of up to 4,000 ringgit (IDR 14.4 million) for the first 3,000 buyers of eMas 7.

In addition, Proton also provided launch packages for the first 3,000 buyers worth 8,000 ringgit (IDR 28.9 million) consisting of free 7 kW home chargers worth 1,500 ringgit (IDR 5.4 million), free V2L adapters worth 500 ringgit (IDR 1.8 million), unlimited five-year packaged data worth 1,800 ringgit (IDR 6.5 million), an additional 1,200 ringgit exchange (IDR 4.3 million), and other offers.

These twins from Geely E5 have impressive performances armed with 218 ps electric motorcycles and 320 Nm torque, so they can speed up from 0 to 100 km/hour in 6.9 seconds and the top speed reaches 175 km/hour.

The Prime variant is offered with a battery from Geely Aegis Short Blad LFP measuring 49.52 kWh which provides a distance of 345 km and Premium has a package of 60.22 kWh which can reach 410 km according to the WLTP cycle.

These two types support a maximum 11 kW of AC charging, with the Prime variant fully charged in about 4 hours and Premium for up to 6 hours.

Meanwhile, Prime types can have the ability to charge with 80 kW of DC devices and Premium can charge with 100 KW of charging. Both can charge 30 to 80 percent in 20 minutes.

From safety technology, Proton eMas 7 comes with six airbags, ESC, ABS and comes with a seat belt reminder for all passengers.

In addition, the first EV of the Malaysian brand is equipped with advanced safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking.
