JAKARTA - Callista Arum tells about his experience playing in a film called the Mass Dismissal Camp which is worked on by the production house Rapi Films. In an exclusive interview with VOI, Callista tries to share his experiences playing two characters at once, namely Rini and Roro Putri.
Callista admitted that it was difficult to play two characters at once even though they did not have the difference in characters that were too far away. This is what makes Callista work harder because it must show the difference between Rini and Roro Putri only through facial expressions.
"Lumayan. So, Rini's character is actually the same as Roro, but it's not different either. So it's like Rini is typically quiet, weak, weak. If Roro doesn't. But he's not. But it's different. Face raut," Callista Arum told VOI, Wednesday, September 18.
"If Rini is definitely something like us now, it's like he's more often looking at his eyes, it's like it's empty, that's it. But if for example Roro, his eyes are fixed, it's more fixed, it's more fierce, it's more like his face looks different," he added.
It did not stop there, Callista also found it difficult in terms of the language in which the film The Prohibited Prohibition of Mass Disruption was set in Yogyakarta. Callista admitted that she had been stressed and cried to memorize the Javanese language dialogue.
"Yes, because Roro has to speak Javanese fluently. So of course it is difficult and I am quite stressed because, so of course, if for example the Javanese language is at the location on that set, there will definitely be changes. So what I have memorized has suddenly been changed and it must be taken immediately," said Callista Arum.
"That's what made me feel like, 'long, short, short', that's why I really got one scene where I had a very long Javanese dialogue, and it was changed. Replaced because it's better like this, it's better. Then I was stressed, I panicked, until I finally cried on the set. Then the one who asked me Nayla, "he added.
It took three to four shootings when Callista did the Roro Putri screening scene. But he emphasized that not all were due to his mistake in speaking Javanese.
"How much? Four? Three? Actually the cracks were not purely all because of my fault. It means it's like suddenly a light, or just suddenly what's going on, that's all," said Callista Arum.
Callista Arum said that entering the world of acting was not his dream since childhood, in fact he himself never thought of being able to be involved in the world of cinema. He admitted that his career journey, which started as a soap opera artist, was finally believed to be a major player, was not always easy.
For him, there is God's intervention in every journey of his career which makes him believe that there is a reason behind his decision to finally choose a career as an actor.
"So really the way in my opinion is God's way. And I didn't say at all that my path was easy because in my first title there were so many things that I felt okay, God I understand," said Callista Arum.
"God may have given me this quickly, but fast doesn't not necessarily mean everything is going smoothly. So it's like someone said, so it's said like this, 'you're going too fast'. 'You're from the first soap opera, you'll immediately become a PU. 'You won't be in entertainment for long'. A lot of people talk like that to me, "he added.
Even when I was in soap operas in my first soap opera, I was said to be a class C artist. I'm not a grade A artist. Then I said I wouldn't be like that like a lot. And I feel like, I feel like God put me there, it's a fast process, but the challenges are more than old ones. Do you understand? It's like the old one but it's slow but sure like that. I'm fast but like a riot. Then I've always wanted a movie, "he continued.
"If for example you say no, it means I'm lying. It means like, I'm just human and at that time I was 16 years old. In front of my eyes, it hurts a lot. But I feel maybe this is what I have to go through because if I don't pass like this I won't be able to be mentally strong, I won't be anyone," he said.
"It means like with my short time but people are more evil, it might be like taking over. It means God is just. Maybe the time is long from the start but it's a smooth road, slowly but up. So I just feel like I just accept it. Then I'm like, it's really my gasoline to speed up. I think so, "added Callista Arum.
At the end of the interview, Callista said that he had a dream to be able to penetrate Hollywood cinema. For this 20-year-old woman, having such a dream is proof that God will always accompany her career steps.

"I hope, this is my highest hope. I want to go to Hollywood. Play in Hollywood films. Yes, yes. Play in Hollywood films. Then what do I want, I want to try all the characters out there and what is certain is that I want everyone to see that I'm not doing this myself," he explained.
"There is God behind me. So it's not me. If for example you see me acting well or you see me in this film is good or the film goes up it's not because of me, not because of PH it's because of my God," concluded Callista Arum.
