Jerome Kurnia Tells The Story Of Investigating The Role Of Pastor For The Sake Of The Dark Power Film

JAKARTA - Jerome Kurnia became one of the actors in the film Kuasa Ilang directed by Bobby Prasetyo. He played Father Thomas who was faced with demands for exorism in the midst of his trauma.

For the first time playing the character of a priest, Jerome admitted that he did not have much consideration in choosing this role. In addition, he was also met with Lukman Sardi and the two competed acting as priests.

Filming with Lukman (Sardi) never gets bored. So confused about making horror or comedy. It's fun because we are very into it. I have a Catholic background so I help the character," said Jerome Kurnia on Tuesday, August 20.

"There are not many considerations, because one, the people behind it are all great people. And I really want to work with great people, one of which is Mas Lukman," he continued.

"The story also seems to me to be very good and continues to be something very new, so I'm actually grateful," he said.

Furthermore, before entering the shooting process, Jerome studied the exorism process of the priest who had received permission from the Vatican. Therefore, he considers his production experience to bear many lessons.

Every day my friends and I are one of the roles that professors who are allowed by the Vatican for exorism. He also often tells stories about his patients who are sometimes not possessed but only medical and we are taught what the difference is," he continued.

"So it's like a lot of learning new things that I don't know at all from the prayers, from how structured the church is actually. So I'm learning more about it and it's something fun for me because maybe if there wasn't this film, maybe I wouldn't have learned that deep," said Jerome.

The Dark Power tells the story of Thomas (Jerome Kurnia), a priest who is traumatized. He was then assigned by Father Rendra (Lukman Sardi) to handle the possession case experienced by Kayla (Lea Ciarachel). The case made Thomas face something that threatened him.

The film Kuasa Dark will be released in Indonesian cinemas starting October 3, 2024.
