Being Villain In Deadpool & Badminton, Emma Corrin Was Anxious And Under Pressure

JAKARTA - Emma Corrin plays Cassandra Nova in Deadpool's latest film Deadpool & Badminton. She got her first villain role which is the twin brother of Dr. Charles Xavier who previously played several Marvel films.

Emma Corrin explained that she tries to make a good tribute to the character Dr. Charles. It is known that the characters were played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy.

"I saw their performance. At first I was hesitant because I thought 'Do I have to act (similar to them)? Can I make it myself?'" said Emma Corrin, cited from Screen Rant.

"But I think it's interesting how they take pictures of the power of someone who is internal and old in the world. I want to see if there are parts that I can use as a form of tribute and of course fans will enjoy it," he said.

In addition, the star The Crown is trying to equalize Cassandra Nova's character according to the depiction in the comic.

"About the comics, we try to stay in the comic line regarding Cassandra's appearance, from her hat, costume, and strange fingers, and of course you will see the original story and the relationship with her brother stands out as part of motivation," Corrin explained.

Cassandra Nova is Charles Xavier's brother, played by Patrick Stewart in X-Men (2000) and James McAvoy in X-Men: First Class (2001). Cassandra Nova used her power to take revenge on Charles.

On a separate occasion, Emma Corrin also revealed how Hugh Jackman's support playedular for years.

"He (Hugh Jackman) said something I thought was amazing. He played this character for several years and got the spotlight he never felt," said Emma Corrin.

"We talked about how much success you got, playing things like this means a lot to a lot of people, but you must feel anxious about what to do well," he continued.

"I was worried and depressed to do it. Marvel fans make people have high standards because their characters are so loved, so they calm me down with that," Corrin said.

The film Deadpool & airing will be released in Indonesian cinemas starting July 24.
