Reported By The British Band, ADOR Denies Allegations Of NewJeans Plagiarism

JAKARTA - The label that houses NewJeans, ADOR released a statement regarding the alleged plagiarism they were accusing of. Previously, they were reported by British band Shakak who claimed one of the NewJeans songs imitated their songs.

The song Bubble Gum, which was recorded by NewJeans, violated copyright by including the song 'Easier Said Than Done' without permission, said Wise Music Group representing the band Shakakar.

"We have verified this and asked for action, including stopping the use of the song Bubble Gum", they said.

Their representatives are reported to have sent a letter to ADOR and their parent company, HYBE, Korea Music Copyright Association, and Sony Music Publishing.

In addition, they also asked for profit reports, changes in rights changes, wrote statements, and asked for compensation. ADOR was asked to take further action within seven days of the letter being sent.

ADOR released statements through several points confirming they denied the alleged plagiarism.

"On June 17, Shakatak's legal side sent evidence of claims, and ADOR's legal party responded on June 21," ADOR said.

Bubble Gum does not use the Shakatak composition without permission. We ask for credible analysis reports on this section," he said.

The label, which was founded by Min Hee Jin, also said that until now, Shakak's party had not provided specific evidence regarding their statement.

On June 21, Shakak indicated they would provide a report, but it has not been received. Those who make the issue are asked to make a report related to plagiarism, and Shakatak must respond according to the rules," ADOR said.

NewJeans' Bubble Gum song was first released as part of the promotion of a brand shampooo in Japan. Then the song was released in the Korean version and became a track with How Sweet which was promoted by NewJeans on several music shows.
