JAKARTA - The case of theft that befell Angel Lelga (AE) revealed a unique fact about the motive of the perpetrator. The suspect with the initials EW, who is Angel Lelga's ART, admitted that he took his employer's belongings not to sell them again, but to collect and wear them himself.
The head of the Jagakarsa Police, Kompol Nurma Dewi, stated that the items taken were personal collections belonging to Angel.
"The goods have hats and others, of course, who have their own personal from AE," Nurma told the media via Zoom, Wednesday, June 24.
Interestingly, the perpetrator is not picky about taking goods, ranging from branded goods to daily necessities such as vitamins.
"Yes, there is a brand, then there are also vitamins and others that are also taken by the ART," explained Nurma.
When asked about the reason for the perpetrator's daring theft, Nurma said that EW was interested in the luxury of his employer's belongings.
"Yes, so if he wears it he likes it. The goods are not cheap. Well, so he likes it and then wears it and takes it," he said.
Based on the results of the interim examination, there has been no indication that the goods have been transferred to another party or sold.
"For now, from our information, it is used by itself," said Nurma Dewi.
Police are currently still inventorying the number of items that EW has taken during his work there.
"For now, the items are still being collected by investigators. So, from AE, we are also looking for any missing items," he said.
Angel Lelga realized this when he was going to look for his personal belongings but they were not found in the usual place.
"AE feels really lost on Wednesday, so Wednesday night he was looking for things he might want to wear, and then nothing," explained Nurma.
When confronted, EW couldn't duck and immediately admitted his actions in front of Angel Lelga.
"Nah dia menanyakan ke ART, ya itu ART-nya juga langsung mengakui bahwa dia yang memakai dan mengambil. Gitu," tambah Kapolsek.
