Review Of Hijack Movie 1971: Aircraft Hijacking Drama With Good Execution

JAKARTA - Director Kim Sung Han presents the 1971 Hijack film which tells the story of aircraft hijacking in the 90s. He wrote this film with Kim Kyung Chan who worked on a number of action thriller films.

Hijack 1971 also featured a row of quality actors, such as Ha Jung Woo who was known for his acting and then Yeo Jin Goo became a villain for the first time. In addition, this film is supported by Sung Dong Il, Chae Soo Bin, Moon You Kang, Im Se Mi, and many others.

Hijack 1971 tells of Tae In (Ha Jung Woo) and Gyu Sik (Sung Dong Il), the pilots who will fly their planes to Gympo. Tae In returned to fly after he served in the South Korean Air Force.

Initially, their journey went well until a man named Yong Dae (Yeo Jin Goo) hijacked the plane and asked Tae In and Gyu Sik to take him to North Korea. Yong Dae carried a bomb and carried a long firecracker and threatened they would all die if they didn't go to North Korea.

Tae In remembers when he was on duty in the Air Force, he almost shot a plane driven by his best friend who was going to North Korea. The incident made his friend never return to South Korea. Now, Tae In suspects he will face the same thing.

In that era, passing through territorial areas means they may not be able to return to South Korea. Tae In tries to save the passengers so that something similar doesn't happen to him.

Hijack 1971 has a story story that can be found in several similar films, which at first glance makes this film look normal. However, the element of tension began to be felt when the first conflict started and made cinematography and camera briefing that made the audience seem to be involved in the situation.

The movement of passengers who experienced shock after the explosion was also shown well and dramatically. From here we start to see the tension between Tae In and Young Dae.

Ha Jung Woo's acting as mentioned earlier, he has mastered roles like this, someone who tries to take control of the situation. However, praise was given to Yeo Jin Goo who played a villain in Hijack 1971.

The expression directed by Yeo Jin Goo shows that he is a villain character who has a reason. Slowly, throughout the film, the reason Young Dae's character carried out these various actions began to reveal.

On the other hand, the sub story in this film is not as smooth as the main story. This film has many characters with their difficulties, but both the completion feels clich and is not even needed. Not to mention, the use of scoring that is always present in some emotional scenes.

Even so, Hijack 1971 managed to present a drama of aircraft hijacking which was full of tension and emotion. Moreover, it was even more emotional when he found out that the story was inspired by real events that occurred in South Korea.
