Lawyers Ask SB For Luxury Car Fraud Perpetrator Jessica Iskandar To Be Released, Not Accepting Judge's Verdict

JAKARTA - The perpetrators of luxury car fraud that harmed Jessica Iskandar and Vincent Verhaag up to Rp 9.8 billion, Christopher Stefanus Budianto alias CSB were finally sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.

CSB is subject to a fraud article regulated in Article 378 regarding fraud even though at the beginning of the panel of judges said there were allegations of embezzlement in this case.

"The defendant was sentenced to a prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months minus the period of detention that had been served with an order that the defendant remains detained," said the judge at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, April 22.

In addition to being detained for 2.5 years, CSB is also required to return the Alphard-type luxury car to Jessica Iskandar and the Car Rental Agreement.

Seeing this, CSB's attorney, Darius Situmorang, after the trial expressed his disappointment with the judge's decision to use the article on fraud against his client. Not to mention, CSB is required to return Jessica Iskandar's Alphard car.

"Well, why is the Panel of Judges still conveying the loss from Jessica Iskandar. We are shocked, strange," said Darius Situmorang.

Even though Darius is sure and hopes that his client can be free and accuses the panel of judges of imposing the article on fraud on CSB.

"Our client should have been released, as freely as possible. But why was our client forced into the crime?" said Darius Situmorang.

Claiming not to be satisfied with the judge's decision, Darius could not confirm whether CSB would file an appeal.
